Darkfall: Unholy Wars : Inventories Rolled Back After Market Exploit Hits

 Darkfall Unholy Wars

Aventurine Studios has posted a notice that a community-discovered Market exploit was discovered last Friday in Darkfall: Unholy Wars. After learning of the exploit, Aventurine disabled the Market and is in the process of permanently banning players taking advantage of the situation. In addition, and in the interest of fairness, Aventurine also has rolled back all inventories to Thursday.

With the help of the community we have discovered that there was some exploiting of our Market feature at the end of last week. We immediately deactivated the Market to fix this issue and we identified those who had been actively exploiting it. We are in the process of permanently banning these players for their actions, as their behavior is inconsistent with the values we’ve set for the Darkfall Unholy Wars community.

To take every measure necessary to protect fairness in the game we decided to roll back inventories to last Thursday and keep the Market feature disabled for another day to further test it and verify that nothing similar happens in the future.

We apologize to those affected and we will add three (3) days of game time to all active accounts on Sunday, June 1st.

Darkfall: Unholy Wars : Economy Patch Released

Economy Patch

The ‘economy patch‘ for Darkfall: Unholy Wars has been released. The new update brings a host of improvements to economy-based features including harvesting, new materials, advanced tools and much more.

We are introducing 4 new basic harvested materials Inferior Ore, Inferior Cotton, Inferior Timber, Inferior Rawhide. Normal harvesting nodes will now drop the inferior version of the material (which you can upgrade to the normal material through the conversion crafting skills smelting, weaving, tanning, woodcutting).

The nodes in safe areas drop abundant inferior materials and the ratio to the normal material gets better according to the danger of the zone.

We also updated all the loot and skinning loot tables of the monsters to reflect the new inferior rawhide addition. The stronger the monster the more chance for normal Rawhide you will have.

Darkfall: Unholy Wars : Patch Details Chaos Primalist School

Primalist School

The latest Darkfall: Unholy Wars patch has been deployed and is packed with bug fixes and feature enhancements. Additionally, and perhaps most notably, the new Chaos-themed Primalist School has been added to the game.

NEW Primalist school (Chaos)
Chaos has descended upon Agon! These powers of pandemonium, available to any primalists with a penchant for discord, will bring a significant dose of mayhem to the field of battle! With a plethora of entropic tools at their disposal, Chaos Primalists specialize in disrupting, relocating, and general face-melting any foes foolish enough to face them.

Bolt of Bedlam – A fast-speeding, long-range bolt of randomized pain! Pure, chaotic, chance decides the type of damage you shall deal.
Seizure – None can resist the lure of chaos. Targets up to a medium range away within a cone shaped area will be grabbed and drawn towards you!
Havoc Blast – Blast anything in front of you, be it foe, friend or even the ground itself, with unholy damage and a very powerful push-back.
Soul Flay – Soufflé your victims soul! On a dying foe, this spell can gank and send them into oblivion! The spell damages a living foe and you will gain health every time your target deals damage for the duration.
Pall of Pandemonium (Ultimate) – A miasma of pure chaos boils out of the ground where you target this spell. All within will find their school skills ineffective, their vision blocked, and will suffer unholy damage over time. You will harvest their pain and reap the rewards as health!

Darkfall Unholy Wars:Auction House Market System And Makes Villages

Darkfall Online introduces an auction house system and tweaks their PvP to make it more rewarding.

The ability for players to exchange goods is a core component of having an active social community in an MMO. Players need to be able to have a reliable market and stable pricing in order to have security in their purchases, and for the community to have a standard by which they gauge wealth. Similarly, they need to have faith that their investments, whether those investments take the form of time, money, or effort, will be rewarded. In order to stabilize the market and increase player investment in Darkfall Unholy Wars, the developers at Aventurine are implementing an Auction House style Market feature, and increasing the rewards from capturing and holding Villages in a patch that will be released sometime next week.

The Market is a feature that has been long awaited in Darkfall, and its inclusion is a promising step in the game’s stability. The Market system should be familiar to anyone who has used an Auction House in other games. The Market uses an order system, where players can sell items for a set price, and other players can search for and purchase those items. In their news release, the developers discuss the strengths of the system, saying that it will, “create a more transparent game economy and will reduce existing trading hassles.” They also suggest that the system will create a more player-driven economy, and that adding a market will also allow them to get a clear picture of the supply and demand of certain items, which will give them greater insight into how to balance the game.

The design team for Darkfall is also going to be tweaking the rewards for capturing and holding Villages in the upcoming patch. Villages were designed to be an integral part of the clan holding meta-game, but have been neglected in territory control PvP. In order to amend the situation, Villages are receiving an upgrade, granting increased rewards when stealing from a Village, and granting 10x the previous amount of Prowess points for capturing a Village.

Additionally, capturing a Village will be more meaningful, as the Village will remain invulnerable to recapture for 20 hours after being taken. This means that a captured Village can serve as a base of operations for clans to hold while planning their next move. Aventurine has also increased the amount of loot found in Villages, and they’ve added a possibility for Building modules to drop during a capture.

Darkfall Unholy Wars is currently in open beta, and boasts itself as one of the toughest and most hardcore MMO experiences around. If you think you’ve got the stuff to take on massive armies and clan-based PvP, you should check it out now.
